| Nestled in the heart of Central Michigan, The Huyett Farm has grown by leaps and bounds in 8 short years. Brent and Stacie Huyett moved from Northeast Kansas to Midland, Michigan in 2000 and established a farm on the South side of Midland. They brought with them a love of Cowboy Sports, Ranch Horses and Longhorn Cattle. The CoverAll Arena was constructed in 2004 and makes horse sports possible year round. The translucent exoskeleton provides a bright and open atmosphere. The high ceiling keeps the inside air cooler in the summer while the translucent shell allows the winter sun to warm the interior a few degrees more than the outside temperature. Brent is a full time Farrier, Blacksmith, Horse Trainer and Longhorn Cattle Breeder. He shows Versatility, Team Ropes, does some Penning and Sorting, and is the Cowboy Olympic Champion 2007. Stacie shows APHA, AQHA, Versatility, Team Ropes, does some Penning and Sorting, Teaches Horsemanship, Jumping, Hunt, Saddleseat, Speed Events, Showmanship and Trail. JW Huyett runs barrels with his dad and aspires to be a great All-Around Cowboy as soon as he cuts some teeth and gets out of diapers. The Huyett farm is home to horses, longhorn cattle, beef cattle, goats, dogs, cats, and occasionally a wild critter or two who takes up residence for the winter in one of the barns. Events at the Arena are family oriented and full of excitement. There is always something new to take in. A short drive in the country, through a quiet neighborhood, it is a great place to visit. |
